The commune of Parleboscq
has a baker's shop and a restaurant. This small commune of 500 people also has 7
churches, some sadly in disrepair but nevertheless very beautiful.
Four miles from Marsan is Gabarret, a
village of 1300 inhabitants, which has a bank with a cash point and a garage. There
are also shops including a bakery, butchers, pharmacy, hairdressers, paper shop,
tobacconist, greengrocer and general grocery. There is also a medical centre.
Gabarret has some very interesting houses and a beautiful church.
Eauze, 8 miles away is a town of 4500 inhabitants. It is also
known as France's other capital city as it is known as " La Capitale de
l'Armagnac" It is a charming town with many architectural features including a
stunning cathedral. Most services are here including a good sized supermarket and
each Thursday morning there is a large market at which one can buy just about
anything including fresh local produce.
Barbotan is a spa town about 6 miles away with many restaurants
and shops and a market that is held each Wednesday morning in summer.

Horse riding
The "Centre Equestre De Bouau", 2 miles from Marsan, has qualified staff that can

Golf
There is an eighteen hole golf course at Guinlet about 8 miles from Marsan and
another one at Mont de Marsan which is about 45 minutes away.
Swimming
The area has lots of municipal swimming pools and bathing lakes which offer safe
bathing and are patrolled by lifeguards. At Agen, about 50 minutes drive away there
is a Parc Walibi that offers fun and games for everyone.
Flying and Auto Sports
Nogaro, some 30 minutes away, has a motor racing circuit where weekend meets are
frequently held. The airfield at Nogaro offers flying and gliding
Walking and Cycling
The area is one of outstanding natural beauty and there are many footpaths as well as
quiet lanes where one can walk or cycle.
